About Us
Lightpost Theatre Company was formed to support the mental health and wellbeing of young Black men by addressing issues like racism, discrimination, negative self-image, and invisibility. The company focuses on building resilience, self-belief, and inclusion while raising awareness of mental health.
With three years of funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, Lightpost has welcomed hundreds of participants aged 18-26 from across the West Midlands. Many have gone on to create their own productions, perform to sell-out audiences, gain industry training and employment, and become leaders for the next generation.
Now evolving into Lightpost Arts, the organisation is expanding its mission to empower creatives and broaden its impact across the wider creative community.
